2020 Edition of Lachine Bonneville Half-Marathon CANCELLED | Pointe-Claire Desjardins Half Marathon

2020 Edition of Lachine Bonneville Half-Marathon CANCELLED

The following message contains two sections. Please take the time to read them carefully:

1. Cancellation of our 2020 edition
2. Transfer of your registration to the 2021 edition

It is important to read the two sections before contacting us.

1. CANCELLATION OF THE 2020 EDITION

After having considered all the solutions on several occasions, the Lachine Bonneville Half-Marathon team is sorry to announce to all runners the cancellation of its 2020 edition, scheduled for October 11.

During the summer, the restriction of 250 people, issued by the Public Health department, targeted only spectators and not participants. However, the Fédération québécoise d'athlétisme has just released a new precision that makes it impossible for us to hold the event:

“The limit of 250 people gathered for [sporting events] applies to participants [athletes]. Once the limit of 250 people has been reached in terms of the number of participants, there cannot be any spectators."

Given the size of our event (3000+ runners), we will be unable to meet this limit, even with wave starts.

In addition, we consider that it would be irresponsible of us to hold the event considering the recent increase in the rate of contamination, thus confirming the approach of a second wave.

2. TRANSFER OF YOUR REGISTRATION TO THE 2021 EDITION

All registrations will automatically be transferred to the 2021 edition of the race for which you were initially registered for:

  • If you were registered to the 2020 Pointe-Claire race, your registration will be automatically transferred to the same distance for the 2021 Pointe-Claire race (even if you agreed to run in Lachine on October 11, 2020.

  • If you were registered to the 2020 Lachine race, your registration will be automatically transferred to the same distance for the 2021 Lachine race.

Please do not contact us if you are in one of the above situations. The transfers are automatic.

Contact william@coursesultimes.com only if you want to change the distance or city in 2021. Ex:

  • You were registered to Pointe-Claire for 2020 and now you want to run in Lachine in 2021.

    OR

  • You were registered to the 10k in Lachine for 2020 and now you want to run the 21.1k in Lachine in 2021.

Please note that we do not offer any reimbursement as clearly mentioned on our website as well as during the online registration process. Due to the important expenses already incurred by our organization such as medals, bibs, t-shirts and other organizational fees, it would be impossible to refund all runners without jeopardizing the financial survival of our events.

Race dates 2021:

Pointe-Claire → Final date to be confirmed. Target date: August 29, 2021.

Lachine → Final date to be confirmed. Target date: October 17, 2021.

We are in negotiations with the two Cities to select the dates for the 2021 editions. If ever the final dates do not suit you, you can always transfer your registration from one city to the other, free of charge, up to one month before the event date.

Please note:

It may take a certain time before our database is up to date. Until you receive an email confirmation of your 2021 registration, it is normal that:
1. Your name will not appear when you use the tool ''Verify your registration'' on our home page.
2. You cannot use the tool ''Resend your confirmation'' on our home page.
3. You cannot log onto your account.

We promise to come back in force in 2021 with an even bigger race to celebrate, we hope, the end of these difficult times.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you again next year,

The Organizing Committee
